The best thing about tax season? The tax refund of course! Consider taking a little bit of your refund to invest in an item or two you might not normally throw down a lot of dough for. Think about something that will make you smile and feel good when you drape it around your shoulders or catch your reflection in a window. From designer scarves and denim to handbags and shoes, we’re sharing our favorite items to treat yo’ self with this tax season. Side responsible note: treating yo’ self could also mean putting that money straight into your emergency, house or travel fund.
HANDBAGS
Sure you could go with a classic that anyone can recognize three blocks away, but why not think a bit outside of the box? Longchamp is a solid brand known for their popular take-them-anywhere nylon totes, but don’t sleep on their other selections like this head-turning Winged Leather Crossbody. Cult Gaia makes incredible bags. The Ark Large Bamboo Clutch is a big hit with bloggers. It also comes in a dreamy multi-color. Want something that will really stop people in their tracks? Say hello to Gucci’s Ophidia Small Shoulder Bag.
SCARVES
Channel your inner Aubrey Hepburn and invest in a luxuriously soft scarf. You’re sure to collect compliments wearing this hot pink retro-inspired silk scarf with fringed ends and vintage Gucci logo. If you’re going for more of a classic look, you can’t go wrong with a Burberry Ultra Mega Check Washed Mulberry Silk Scarf. Fendi also has gorgeous options like this Printed Silk-Twill Scarf with gold bubble lettering.
JACKETS
Everyone should own this ThermoBall Full Zip Jacket from The North Face. It keeps you warm and cool (and dry!) and is perfect for travel because you can easily roll it down and pack it into your purse or carry-on. The Chelsea Short Trench Coat from Burberry can dress up or add style to any outfit. And of course, every wardrobe needs a leather biker jacket for those days you’re feeling sassy.
DENIM
Give your favorite pair of blue jeans a reason to be jealous by adding some designer denim to your closet. We’re over the moon about these Citizens of Humanity Liya High Rise Classic Fit Jeans in Troublemaker wash. We love a good pair of black denim, especially these stretchy and soft Frayed Ankle Skinny Jeans from Mother. If you’re looking for a flattering skinny fit in a lighter wash, AG’s The Legging Ankle Jeans are a definite “do”.
SHOES
Use your tax refund to up your shoe game. These foxy Valentino Garavani Rockstud Slingback Pumps are the perfect match for your favorite pair of skinny jeans or little black dress. We love the shine and chunky heels on these Jeffrey Campbell Total Ankle Booties. (Psst… they also come in white and red—yowza!) These Rag & Bone Calla Leather Wedge Espadrille Sandals are sure to be your go-to shoes for spring and summer.
