The big date is getting closer and causes quite a stir. It will all begin on Friday the 5th of August and culminate on Sunday the 21st. This year’s Olympics are landing in Rio de Janeiro, a huge seaside city which is the capital of Brazil. It is famous not only for its beaches, but also for its statue of Christ the Redeemer, which stretches for a good 38 meters into the sky in Tijuca Forest National Park, atop the Corcovado Mountain. This worldwide known symbol of Christianity overlooks the whole city and is a major tourist attraction.
This year, Team U.S.A. is to compete in the Rio Olympics and is comprised of 555 athletes. These wonderful sportsmen-and-women will be demonstrating their talents in 30 areas, and are hoping to repeat the success of previous years. Winning 46 golden, 28 silver and 29 bronze medals in the last summer Olympics, the U.S. was first on the medal table.
The athletes, eager beavers, are getting ready and chomping at the bits. We, the regular folk, also have a role to play. Some of us are going to be in Rio personally to smell the sweat and feel the tension, while team U.S.A. competes for an honorable symbol of fair play and hard work. The athletes are going for the gold; ours job is to show mighty support. They enjoy hearing your roar as much as you enjoy watching them do what they do best.
Whether you are taking yourself to Rio de Janeiro this summer or staying home, you have the power to support the U.S. Olympic Team by sporting some Team USA clothing. A couple designers, including Ralph Lauren, have a stylish line of Team USA clothing that can be purchased on The-E-Tailer.com. Attending or not, you can still show that your heart is withthem, and dressing with style can be your way of doing so.
